Live births by ethnicity by area of usual residence of mother

Live births by baby's ethnic group as defined by the mother. Ethnicity is defined by broad ethnic group; White, Black, Asian, Other (including all non-white people who are not from Black or South Asian backgrounds and all people of mixed ethnicity). Live births are recorded where the birth registration records have been successfully linked to their corresponding birth notifications records. These are referred to as the 'NN4B dataset's after the NHS Numbers for Babies system for allocating NHS numbers at birth for all babies born in England and Wales.
