The framework for the questionnaire is the Aiming High for Disabled Children core offer standards on information, transparency, assessment, participation and feedback. The data will provide an overall national figure on parental experience (between 0 and 100). The data will also provide an overall local figure on parental experience for 30 local areas participating in the first data collection.

Under 18 conception rates at ward level were produced by aggregating the number of conceptions to all girls aged under 18 over three year periods (2000-2002 and 2001-2003) and calculating the rate as the number of conceptions per 1,000 women aged 15-17 resident in the area using the mid year ward population estimates. Quintiles were then produced by ranking ward level under 18 conceptions rates from the lowest to highest at National level and then allocating wards to one of five equal groups based on the total number of wards. Quintile 1 therefore includes wards with the lowest rates, whilst quintile 5 includes wards with the highest rates in England and Wales.

- Description The Mental Health dataset is produced from the Mental Health Minimum Dataset (MHMDS) and provides data on the number of people aged 18 and above who were in contact with NHS specialist mental health services in a year. These services include not only in-patient services, but also services provided in the community or through outpatient clinics. Each person is counted once in the year, regardless of how many times they were in contact with services and whether they used services in different areas.
