Description Area Classifications is used to group together geographic areas according to key characteristics common to the population in that grouping. These groupings are called clusters, and are derived using census data.

Description The National Statistics Area Classification provides a simple indicator of the characteristics of the area based on a range of census data. The 'Distance from Centroids' dataset contains the distances between each SOA or DZ and the cluster centre measured in Euclidean Distance. The smaller the distance, the stronger the association.
