Persons unable to work due to illness or disability. Incapacity Benefit (IB) claimants are people who are assessed as being incapable of work and who meet the appropriate contribution conditions. The dataset also includes Severe Disablement Allowance (SDA) claimants. SDA has not been available to new claimants since April 2001, and has been incorporated into the IB dataset statistics |
