The information presented here provides an update to the indicator used in the generation of the Indices of Deprivation 2004 developed by the Social Disadvantage Research Centre of the University of Oxford on behalf of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) (now DCLG). The indicator is provided for comparison with the original indicator but does not constitute part of an updated index.

Working Tax Credit is now used in the calculation of this indicator, this replaces Working Families Tax Credit in the original indices.
