Description

Number of recorded racial incidents per 100,0000 population (Applies to authority's services including schools and to employment by the Authority). Racial incidents cover any incident regarded as racial by those involved or anyone else. The nature and type of incidents are wide-ranging and complex and seemingly ‘minor’ incidents can be threatening and can impair the quality of life of those affected. Examples include:• racially motivated physical assault on the person or property; • use of language that is racially offensive e.g. the casual use of racist terms that are not directed at any individual; and• refusing to work with or co-operate with people because of their colour or race.
