Background information |
The families were created using cluster analysis a statistical technique that involves identifying which variables can be used to characterise entities and differentiate between them. Individual entities (in this case, BCUs and CDRPs) are gradually combined together on the basis of their similarities each being allocated to the grouping to which they have the nearest 'fit' across all the variables. Eventually the number of groupings (also known as families or clusters) reaches an optimum point. |
