Hospital Episode Statistics for Middle Layer Super Output Areas

Description

This dataset provides information about Finished Consultant Episodes (FCEs) which is the period of time that a patient spends in the care of one consultant when in hospital. Information is given about the patients' main diagnosis (Coronary Heart Disease, Stoke or Cancer), and operation (Hip Replacement, Heart operations and Cataract operations) which took place, during the patients' admission.

Data suppression

Data relating to hospital episodes are potentially sensitive and it is therefore vital that the information contained within the published datasets does not enable individuals to be identified. For consistency with other published hospital episode statistics the data have been protected by suppressing values that could lead identification.
